Welcome to The Realm of the Rebus! I'm not sure what this will end up being, but for now, for me, it'll be a fun place to dump my steaming mounds of visual puns onto a place where maybe some day people will pore over them like Fermat's Last Theorem. I'll definitely be making maddening notes in the margin like "there is a simple solution to this one!"
Some ideas for rules/things we could do, besides posting rebuses:
1. NO shouting the answers in comments.
2. Weekly rebus contest, to be judged by Miguel and me. We would use a perfectly fair and consistent democratic system to decide the winner. [With two of us, you can tell this will be perfect democracy - you either get two votes, or you lose.]
3. Audience judges the fairness/humor/artistry/nerdiness of each rebus we post.
4. Rebus philosophy. What makes an unfair rebus? What is allowed in a rebus? What is the difference, if any, between a rebus and Pictionary? What is the proper pluralization of "rebus"?
5. On a similar note, maybe we could come up with a standardized rebus language the way others have for charades.
